Hatha Yoga is the branch of Yoga that deals with the perfect balance of body & mind. It is a system of mental and physical training with prescribed asanas (postures), breathing exercises and relaxation. It was originally devised to prepare the practitioner for higher Yogic teachings, which is why Hatha Yoga has unique features. These features help the practitioner who so desires to pursue the path of spiritual development. For those who do not wish to pursue this path, Hatha Yoga can help tremendously to achieve physical, mental and emotional well-being.


The various asanas combine the contraction & stretching of the body and twisting of the limbs with breathing, retention and concentration all at the same time to obtain maximum benefits of the posture. These asanas not only make the body suppler and condition the muscles but they also tone up the internal organs and glands enabling the practitioner to achieve radiant health & vitality. The effects of the Yoga postures has been widely studied and are known to be of tremendous value in therapeutic use as well as in promoting and maintaining a life style to achieve radiant health, youth and long life.  

When you sit in posture for a few minutes it creates within you a specific mental state because the physical state is closely connected to the mental state of a person. These yoga postures are very important especially for the beginners to change their mental states and prepare them for higher mental & spiritual practices.
